Call For Donations
This year, Up North Arts has been chosen by Rotary Club of Cadillac as a recipient of a beautification grant for our location at 601 Chestnut in Cadillac. If you’ve driven by our building, which is the three Quonset huts and former Naval Reserve Center across from the football fields, you’ve probably had some thoughts about its appearance. We’ve had some thoughts too and are filled with hope that it will soon become a beacon in our community.
Our first mission to improve the exterior is a digital sign. This will help us improve our presence within the community. Currently, when you drive by, you aren’t quite sure exactly what’s here, and you may have noticed the unsightly pines out front have been cut and trimmed. We’ve worked so hard on beautifying the interior and now we’d like to put some make up on the exterior. The Rotary grant will allow us to purchase the digital sign. The sign will not only tout what’s happening with Up North Arts, but the Senior Center and Genealogy Library also housed at 601 Chestnut, along with other arts member groups on the Cadillac Arts Council.
Additionally, we continue our work with the City of Cadillac to have the building power washed. Our plan is to develop an Art Garden Walk around the building as part of this beautification project.
We are humbled to have been chosen by Rotary this year for this opportunity. Meeting our goals working with Rotary involves raising funds through the Annual Rotary Auction taking place on April 22nd at 6pm at Fox Motors. Tickets are available. See Below. We are working with Rotary to raise funds this year for their next project in the same spirit as past recipients. We are receiving fruits of their labor from last year and the funds you help us raise this year will go towards next year’s recipients.

Even if you don’t think of yourself as an artist, but consider yourself a hobbyist, or possibly have another service or items to donate that aren’t listed, please consider making a donation. There is no item too small and quite possibly, no item too large!

Our goal is to have all donations of your art or services collected by March 1st, 2023 but no later than March 15th, to prepare items for the auction at the event on April 22nd.
